Featuring four front wheels, the Tyrrell P34 that debuted during the 1976 season featured a revolutionary design. The following year, First National City Bank became the team's primary sponsor and the cars were received a blue and white livery and a more aerodynamic fairing.
The chassis is based on the F103 model with 6 wheels and options used in ref. 47359. Kingpin 4-wheel independent coil spring front suspension consisting of a one-piece forearm and individual left/right upper arms. A single servo controls the steering of the four front wheels. The rear suspension features a rigid T-bar with TRF shock absorber and low-friction pads. The spur gear is equipped with an integrated ball differential for limited slip effect. The tires make masterful use of the power provided by the torque-tuned engine.
