Thermal RC motor clutch
The clutch is one of the key parts of a thermal RC car . It is thanks to it that the energy from the engine is transmitted to the wheels… and that the car moves forward! It is therefore strongly recommended to monitor its general condition and replace worn parts if necessary.
The RC Team online store lists all the components of a clutch for a thermal RC engine : flywheel, weights, springs and bearings, clutch bell, clutch screws, nuts, etc. We also offer complete clutches , so that your radio-controlled car finds a second lease of life!
Clutch for thermal RC car
The thermal RC car remains a must for all model building and mechanics enthusiasts. Its engine can be easily “tinkered with”, as can the components of the vehicle such as the clutch.
RC pilots who have remained loyal to the thermal engine appreciate being able to customize their radio-controlled car , but also to repair it to make it last as long as possible. And if there is a sensitive point on a thermal car, it's the clutch!
In fact, this assembly forms the link between the engine and the transmission system to transfer power to the wheels progressively. It is therefore particularly stressed… and can quickly become worn out or damaged.
You can easily ensure that the clutch of your radio-controlled vehicle is working properly. Just ride at a walking pace. If the car stalls or jerks, there is a malfunction. Same thing when accelerating: the speed must increase gradually.
Have you noticed an anomaly? It may be time to renew a few parts, or change the entire clutch of your RC motor !

Did you know ? Most RC cars with thermal engines are equipped with a centrifugal clutch . When the engine turns, the weights come off the axis of rotation under the effect of centrifugal force. They then put pressure on the clutch bell. This, equipped with teeth, “grabs” the transmission and causes the vehicle to move.
