Shock absorber oils

Like any vehicle, your RC car requires regular maintenance of its mechanics to run long-term and display good performance. As a specialist in radio-controlled modelling , RC Team offers on its online store all the accessories you may need in your workshop or model club. And if there's one piece of equipment you should always have in reserve, it's mechanical oil! Silicone oils are now being added to traditional mineral oil , which have the advantage of being insensitive to temperature variations, without being corrosive to the joints .

RC Team references a wide range of shock absorber and differential oils for all types of RC vehicles. Track , road, off-road … the shock absorbers work differently depending on the terrain. And whether we practice RC competition or leisure, it is always the details and attention to detail that make the difference. So, take the time to carefully select your RC car shock absorber oil!

Oils for RC car shock absorbers

With RC Team , efficiently maintain the engine and shock absorbers of your radio-controlled vehicle! Our RC mechanics specialists have selected high quality shock absorber oils to ensure the greatest reliability on the circuit and off-road. As on a classic vehicle, shock absorbers play a vital role in handling, trajectory control and braking. This is why it is essential to regularly check their good condition.

In addition to the external spring which absorbs the movements, there is a hydraulic cylinder in which a piston is immersed in a volume of oil. The harder (thicker) the oil, the slower the piston moves, and the thinner the oil, the faster the piston moves. Ultimately, the choice of shock absorber oil determines how easily the RC car compensates for terrain irregularities to stabilize itself. Radio-controlled model enthusiasts or experienced competitors can find the biggest brands of RC mechanics on the online store: Hudy , AKA , Tamiya , MST , TLR , Ultimate ... They can even use the grease pen compatible with all oils to adjust their shock absorbers with the greater precision.

Track, all-terrain: the best oil for electric or mechanical RC cars

RC Team advises you to determine in advance the fluidity level of the oil you need for the shock absorbers of your radio-controlled car. In fact, the higher the indicator, the less liquid the oil is. Are you driving an RC racing car that achieves speed performance on a regular track? A buggy or a truggy that you launch into the most rugged terrain? A crawler or scale capable of overcoming all obstacles while boasting the greatest realism with the original model?

You should know that the adjustment of a shock absorber depends on a multitude of factors, such as the ground clearance of the radio-controlled vehicle, the weight of the car, the size of the shock absorbers or the type of terrain (flat or uneven). Above all, it's about keeping the chassis out of contact with the ground and avoiding skidding when turning on the track or overturning off-road. Generally speaking, we will favor a thick oil for a race on a flat and homogeneous circuit because it will facilitate driving at high speed . On the contrary, we will use a thinner oil off-road , so that the suspensions react more quickly to contact with bumps, ruts, holes and even jumps, and so that the wheels remain in contact with the ground as much as possible.
