NiMH (Nickel-Metal Hydride) batteries have a long lifespan: approximately 1000 charge cycles. LiPos, on the other hand, will need to be replaced after 100 to 200 cycles. They therefore cost more to use. LiPos are becoming more and more popular because of their performance. More powerful and more constant, they are also lighter. On the other hand, NiMH batteries are more robust: they are therefore well suited to children and beginners... Where LiPo batteries present a fire risk!
