Le Guide du Bashing

What is Bashing in RC?

Driving radio-controlled cars is a hobby that many people around the world enjoy, both children and adults. Several categories of enthusiasts stand out: competitors who compete in races and amateurs who develop their cars without any constraints. Every RC car fan has ever thought about pushing their cars to their limits to see how fast and how far they can go. This is called bashing. So, RC bashing is all about driving your RC car at full speed without following any rules.

Racing involves a professional track, rules, regulations and intentions. You don't drive an RC car just for fun, but rather to win. During a competition, you avoid going off the track and damaging the vehicle at all costs. This is not to say that bashing is about intentionally destroying your precious RC car, but rather about driving without worrying about the consequences. Be careful though, this practice requires that you take an interest in the mechanics of your car to be able to repair it in the event of damage.

You can be a competitor and a basher at the same time: these two activities are compatible. Bashing is simply a freer version of racing that allows a player to fully experience their RC car! Between these two extreme practices, there are many cautious modelers who enjoy driving their car freely, but taking care not to damage it.

What are the characteristics of a good car for bashing?

When looking to buy an RC model for bashing, there are several things you should keep in mind, including ruggedness.

1. A solid and easy-to-maintain car

Since you are going to race your RC car without following any rules or regulations, it is very likely that it will take a few hits and get damaged. It is therefore essential to look for a robust and durable car , capable of withstanding a few knocks without falling apart. In addition, it must be easy to maintain so that you can repair it easily.

2. Choose durability over lightweight

RC competitors tend to look for a lightweight vehicle that can go faster. Bashing enthusiasts, on the other hand, will do the opposite. For bashing, it's best to choose a heavier car, since extra weight makes it more durable .

3. Look for good ground clearance

Models intended for RC bashing should have good ground clearance , as you will likely use them on rough terrain.

4. Prefer a battery with autonomy

You can't do bashing without some battery life . The higher the number of mAh (3300, 4000, 5000, etc.), the longer the car will run. So when choosing the battery, take a high mAh battery. You can also provide backup batteries to extend your driving time.
