The different types of RC cars
Many varieties of radio controlled cars exist. Models that exist in life size but also cars with eccentric looks , born from the overflowing imagination of creators who are passionate about RC . We can divide these models into two large categories: Off-Road, i.e. all-terrain cars (Monster Truck, Buggy, etc.) and On-Road, for vehicles that operate on the road (Formula 1, drift car, short race). We will review most car models to help you identify the vehicle that will suit you best .
On-Road radio-controlled cars
Passenger cars
Touring cars , or Touring Cars, are often miniatures of life-size models. Versatile, easy to handle and relatively fast, these models are perfectly suited to beginners.
Formula 1
Formula 1 cars are, like their full-size predecessors, extremely fast racing cars . These are very responsive models which are suitable for drivers looking for sensations on the circuit.
Drift cars
Equipped with low-grip tires and special equipment, drift cars are a slightly different type of vehicle. Drift lovers will be delighted to be able to make these cars drift around the corners.
Off-Road radio-controlled cars
The Buggies
Buggies are the classic choice of off-road cars. Fast and very light, they are perfectly suited to uneven terrain. On the other hand, due to low ground clearance, their ability to cross is much more limited than a Monster Truck and they will not necessarily overcome large obstacles. Buggies are also very versatile: equipped with road tires and by lowering the ground clearance, they can be transformed into an On-Road vehicle.
Stadium Trucks
Taller and wider than Buggies, Stadium Trucks can drive on even more difficult terrain. They are equipped with longer suspension arms and have better stability.
The Truggies
Truggies look a lot like Stadium Trucks. The main difference is the Truggies' four monitor wheels for better traction on rough terrain.
Monster Trucks
Like their full-size counterparts, Monster Trucks are enormous machines mounted on giant wheels. Much slower than the vehicles presented previously, they are nevertheless perfect for overcoming obstacles with class and elegance.
Short Courses
Short Courses have large wheels but are much heavier and narrower than other Off-Road vehicles. These are hybrid vehicles that can drive on difficult terrain as well as on race tracks.
The Crawlers
With a tall chassis, strong suspensions, monstrous wheels and a high-torque engine, Crawlers are the vehicles most suited to difficult terrain. Their crossing ability is incredible!
